Central Research Institute of Epidemology, Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being, Moscow, Russia
In the early 2000s, the WHO raised the issue of the pandemic of herpesvirus infections due to their occurrence everywhere and the infection of the world’s population from an early age. However, macroorganism infection does not stll mean the development of the disease requiring the prescription of therapy. Wth regard to herpesvirus infections, the borderline between the conditions requiring correction and those that need to be followed up is very subtle.
For 10 years, the Clinical Department of Infectious Pathology, Central Research Institute of Epidemology, Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being, has been doing active scientific and practical work to develop diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for management tactics in patients of different ages according to the form of herpesvirus infections. The paper presents the main achievements by the employees of the Department in recent years. The promises of further investigations are indicated.
